"I have been so great a lover: filled my days
So proudly with the splendour of Love's praise,"

Rupert Brooke: The Great Lover

Welcome to my site about the life, poetry and death of the English poet Rupert Brooke, a poet who, in my opinion, captured the innumerable beauty of life in its many intimate details and instilled everything he did with a burning passion that still rages as strong today.

Here you will find his poetry, an image gallery, biography, and much more.

My own interest in Brooke began almost twenty years ago in a local library, when I found a reprinted edition of his collected poems at a time in my life when the words and emotions I found there seemed to speak personally to my own stage in life. Hardly surprising when you consider they were written by a young man who write mostly about love and the passion of life, including all of its intimate details. Without going into too much detail this experience changed my own future to the point where I am now a stronger, more passionate person as a result of that encounter.

I hope you have a similarly-inspiring experience in browsing through this site today.
